Current Activities

Ron’s involvement with several organizations including the following:

  • New England Racing Museum - Director, Board of Directors:
    The New England Racing Museum is 10,000 square feet of New England motor racing history. It contains 30+ race cars and motorcycles from the early 1900s to modern day and from all disciplines that have a regional heritage. The museum seeks to discover motor racing vehicles and artifacts, preserve them and educate the public not only on the history of regional motor racing, but also learn about the engineering, safety and economic impact motor racing has had in New England.

  • USS Constitution Museum - Life Trustee:
    The USS Constitution Museum serves as the memory and educational voice of USS Constitution, by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the stories of “Old Ironsidesand the people associated with her. The museum seeks to create a positive, memorable experience for both children and adults by inspiring within them a love for the freedom that Constitution symbolizes. The museum shares Constitution’s contributions with a global audience, and will strive to be the best museum possible based on scholarship and innovative ways of sharing Constitution’s stories.

  • New England Digital Emergency Communications Network - Director, Board of Directors:
    The New England Digital Emergency Communications Network, Inc. (NEDECN) was created by the linking of number of New England-based amateur radio digital repeaters, each with emergency power. Communications can be customized for Statewide, Regional and National configurations using talk groups and time slots. These capabilities, combined with commercial-grade repeaters, make this a very resilient system, ready for both routine and disaster communications.

  • Harley-Davidson Owners Group (HOG) - Former Director:
    Ron was elected to the position of Director of the Winnipesaukee Harley-Davidson Owners Group, Chapter #2509, for a two-year term, effective January 1, 2017. H.O.G. Chapter #2529 (www.winnihog2529.com), located in Meredith, New Hampshire, is a volunteer organization that works in partnership with Laconia Harley-Davidson to provide a positive Member experience through camaraderie and social engagement. The Chapter orchestrates events and safe motorcycle rides for Members and their guests. The Chapter is a strong, family friendly, supportive force in the community and strives to be a good steward and representative for both Members and sponsoring dealership.

  • Laconia Motorcycle Week Association - Former Director:
    The Laconia Motorcycle Week Association (LMWA) was formed in 1990 to formulate strategy, protect and project the legacy of "Motorcycle Week", which dates back to 1917. That makes Laconia Motorcycle Week the oldest and one of the largest gatherings of motorcycle enthusiasts in the world.

    ”I have always felt an affinity to Motorcycle Week and desired to become, in some way, shape or form, more involved in the motorcycle community in the Lakes Region. From October 2017 - October 2019, I was a member of the board of directors of LMWA to help, from a strategic perspective, guide Motorcycle Week for the future.”
